The Bragozzo is the Venetian name for a two-masted Adriatic fishing boat, used by local fishermen since ancient times.

Between the 18th and 19th centuries, the Bragozzo was the most popular boat in the Adriatic, employed for both coastal and deep-sea fishing.

Its origins date back much further, likely emerging from the valleys around Chioggia in the Veneto region. Over time, it was widely used along the Venetian and Istrian coasts. The name Bragozzo comes from the Venetian dialect word braga, meaning "trousers," possibly referring to the trouser-like shape of the nets these boats carried.

Thanks to its distinctive hull with a flat bottom, the Bragozzo remains a preferred mode of transport for travelers seeking to explore Venice and its lagoon like a local. It offers a safe yet authentic experience, allowing visitors to hop between hidden islands in great comfort.
